Peace Corps Community

The Peace Corps community is absolutely amazing! I have just returned from a Bon Voyage party for future Peace Corps volunteers hosted by some amazing RPCVs and it was easily one of the best times I have had in the past month. Why you ask? Its because every single person I met was incredibly warm and welcoming. It was like being in a room full of old friends and even though I have never met any of these people before we interacted like we were already well acquainted friends. There were plenty of laughs and not enough time for all of the stories that were to be told. It is so exciting to know that I get to have this community to come back to after my service. It is even more exciting to know that these are the kind of people that I will be serving with!

I would relay more information about this but there is just too much to type, also I like my posts to be mildly funny/entertaining in my posts so I figure I would keep this one short.

PC update- Received an email from placement stating they would be in contact with me soon in regards to the next step in my placement!

Until next time.

I'm still here

Hey guys/girls I know it's been a while since my last post so I wanted to give you a quick update on my status involving the Peace Corps.

Application Status before I vanished off the face of the.... this blog - Legally cleared. ( Which I just realized I probably didn't even mention that last post. Well that happened on like Feb. 28 or 26 I can't remember but I didn't realize untill March 3rd. Needless to say super excited!)

Application Status currently- Legally cleared

R.A.S.(Restless Applicant Syndrome) severity prior to last post - Palpable

R.A.S. severity currently- similar to Godzilla in Tokyo. I am Tokyo.

Needless to say I check my email allllll the time. I don't want to give an exact number because I am ashamed....
(Note. Not actually ashamed, I just can't count that high.)
((Note on the Note: Yes I can))

To catch you up on everything let me tell you how March was:
1st week: Midterms : Lack of preparation turns this week into chaos.

2nd week: Spring Break : A lot better than Midterms.

3rd week: School and R.A.S. kicks in hard, I email the Health Placement office to see where I'm at in the process. I then get an email back stating that I will get a response in 4-5 business days.

4th week: Exams, Papers, learning about Buddhism, and waiting for a response it has been 3-4 business days since the email has been sent.

I will update soon if I find out any more info regarding my application.

Until Next Time.

Caution: I use the word Fuck in this one.

Hold on kids this one's about to get bumpy.

Fuck Yeah!

Just got a message back from the Peace Corp medical office. I'm so healthy I went right through the pre-medical screening process and straight to placement! The level of excitement in my life/ mainly in my head right now is ridiculous! Now all I have to do is wait for my invitation.... Wait a second did I just say wait as in wait longer?

Yes. But I'm getting better at it, obviously you readers can't tell this, but I am...... Trust me.

Now to tell my Mom, Dad, Sister, Grandparents, and Alaska!

Meanwhile in Tallahassee...

I haven't really had any desire to blog as of late but due to the persistence of a friend I believe that the time has come for me to blog for the second official time ever! (wait for applause to finish). So recently I have been talking with a fellow Future PCV*  (She knows who she is) but we will call her Alaska. Anyhow we have been talking as of late on almost every aspect of Peace Corp imaginable. She recently had talked to a Returned PCV from Morocco and relayed the information to me.

MY MIND HAS BEEN BLOWN!

I mean this in the best way of course. There is no greater adventure than the one that awaits me across the world in a village that I do not even know the name of yet! Hearing stories only whets your appetite when you are in the Limbo period of wait after your nomination for the PC. The amount of excitement that I have and the amount of not knowing shit about any future shit that I also have obtained, have joined together to give me RAS or Restless Applicant Syndrome. This is a well documented case of checking the mailbox 3 times a day checking email upwards of 12 times a day and yelling at your status to change from nominated to anything else to give you hope, however it's really not that bad.... Yet

In all seriousness though I am excited about my future and can't wait until I know more information about it. The process that I have already been through has taught me quite a bit about myself as well as made me some awesome new friends.

Until next time.

*Peace Corp Volunteer for all of you who are reading this blog who aren't obsessing about future Peace Corp Service.

Testing.... Testing

Well here I am writing my first blog.... Feels weird but I was told it was a good idea to start now that way I will get the hang of it by the time I am sent to god knows where to live for 27 months. Oh yeah, I just recently have been nominated for Peace Corp service (these views are my own and do not reflect that of the U.S. government or the peace corp) official statement to come just thought I would throw that in to cover my bases.
Anyhow a little about me, I'm 22 and I'm graduating from the great Florida State University in May with my B.S. in Political Science, I then plan to leave for the peace corp in September of this year. I was nominated September 2013 departure date to work in the Health sector! More excitement to come, also I hope this is my dullest blog because as of yet I do not feel like I have entertained you reader(s). The S is added to make myself feel as if more than just my mother is reading this. Hi Mom!
And now I'm done blogging.... how do I end this? ....... The end.
